Welcome to Kailey Made Ceramics! My journey began in 2012 when I first touched clay in a college ceramics class. From there I was hooked and took every ceramics class offered at my college. After graduating with a degree in Mass Communications, I pursued a career in marketing with a focus on photography. 

I married Tanner, a handsome Marine from my hometown of Sioux Falls, SD in 2016. We have three crazy kids, ages 5, 3 and 1. His career in the military has taken us places like 29 Palms, CA, Okinawa, Japan, Brainerd, MN and now Oceanside, CA. Although grateful to experience new places, frequent moving with the military has made it difficult for me to start over with my career each time. When we got to California in December of 2023, I did some soul searching and decided I really wanted to pursue a business venture of my own that would give me the flexibility of moving wherever the military took us. 

This led me to pottery. I had purchased my own wheel in 2022 while living in Minnesota so when I made the decision to pursue pottery seriously last year, I made the big investment in a kiln and have slowly built my studio from there. I specialize in functional ware but I love making creative pieces as well. 

You can catch me at the Vista Farmers Market on Saturdays from 8-12pm with my current collection of pieces. I occasionally update my website with my collection as well and ship anywhere in the U.S. I love doing custom orders so feel free to reach out and we can chat about your ideas!
